Windows backup by Imaging

I'm trying to find a backup solution for a friend's laptop. He's fairly computer-literate, but no sys-admin.

I'm a mac guy, so I'm kinda out of date as to whats "good" on windows. I use a product called "SuperDuper!" on my Mac (tho CarbonCopyCloner would also do the same job). IS there an equivalent for Vista Business?

The idea would be, once a week or so, he could just plug in a USB drive, do something (reboot to a USB key, boot off a CD, run an app etc) and have his HDD mirrored onto the USB drive - overnight, even. Then, if his machine frys itself, he can get a new one and he's back up and running very quickly.

Normally, I'd go with just a data backup, but he's doing forex trading on it, and may need to be back up very quickly :)

Any thoughts? Is Ghost suitable for this kind of thing?

Oh bother. It's a dup of this one: superuser.com/questions/7739/windows-backup-by-imaging Some one with admin, can you close it as dup? I can't seem to do that myself :) Serves me right for not looking hard enough. Cheers – Nic Wise Aug 3 '09 at 13:20

Check out Acronis TrueImage. It's more user-friendly than Ghost (and a better product in general, IMO).
