I'm looking for a set-top box, like a media center, that will record shows to an internal hard-drive based on the cable channel and time. This is because I live outside the US and most media players require some sort of lookup service to acquire TV names and times.

VHS VCR's could be set to record a channel at specific times, and I find it strange that I can't find a set-top box that will do the same.

I'll be happy with any non-PC based solution - I don't want to use a PC as the media player/recorder.

Media players, set-tops boxes, NAS, etc, will work for my needs - something external from a PC.

Please help!
