Most people say the "Z" shell. Pronounce it "Zee shell."

It is "Z"-shell, so use whatever your local pronunciation of "Z" is. In most English dialects, "Z" is actually pronounced "Zed", except in American English, where it is pronounced "Zee". Citation.

I'm English and still say Zee-shell. It flows off the tongue more easily than the Zed variant. – Charles Roper Apr 20 at 15:45
