Is there an online tool that will provide an RSS feed of a newsgroup or public mailing list thread? I tried (briefly) to use feed43 to generate a feed of a Google Groups mailing list thread, but it seemed like I needed to basically write the details of the scraper myself and that they just provided the framework. Which is neat and all, but I would expect that sort of thing to already be done for a site as institutional as Google Groups.

I tried doing this by using Google Reader's ability to provide an RSS feed for an arbitrary page, but I couldn't find a way to get it to provide updates to the thread page: since the page was from a list, it just asked me to confirm that I wanted to add the entire list.

Is there a better tool available for this sort of thing?

Questions on Super User are expected to generally relate to computer software or computer hardware, within the scope defined in the faq.

Go to the Google Group page. Select the thread you want to follow, next to the title of the thread is an options button.

Click options and it will give you the opportunity to subscribe via email to any updates.

Edit: Not the same as an RSS feed but it looks like the only way to get just that thread's updates.
