In my laptop on Linux(Ubuntu) platform the Wifi driver is not working so.. What should I do ?

Install linux-backports-modules-wireless-lucid-generic, or closest appropriate module matching your laptop's architecture. This includes various backported wireless kernel modules written since Linux 2.6.32 up to Linux 2.6.35 which are required for some more recent laptops (such as my EeePC 1005P).
