I recently bought an external CD/ DVD drive. I plugged in the USB on the windows 7 starter netbook and was installed automatically, however when I go to the program "Acer emanagement" to burn a factory recovery disk, it wouldn't let me burn. The part where it says Burn to, says: Unable to detect a writable drive. When I check my computer to see if the dvd drive is there, it was. Why can't i burn the recovery disk? Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Can you burn a disc using other software? Any disc? – Moab Aug 29 '10 at 21:40
I installed Nero to see if I can locate the drive too. It couldn't either. But "my computer" shows I do have the dvd drive and cd drive installed. Why is it that "my computer" says its installed but the softwares/ programs can't locate the drive? Is it the drive's issue? – Lyna Aug 30 '10 at 3:46
