Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Is there any way to get CKEditor to have a "code" button?

Syntax coloring would be a plus. I just want to be able to highlight text and click a button and have it format it in a special way and it would be a plus to also highlight the textual code.

I am having trouble finding plugins/modules for CKEditor and I am a bit of a noob so more detail is better than less.

Is this for a site you're building? – random Aug 30 '10 at 23:23
Sort of....It's a Redmine install with CKEditor replacing the default wiki editor. I do know how to get to the plugins folder, etc. of CKEditor. I tried to use syntaxhighlighter, but it didn't actually highlight anything. – Joshua Enfield Aug 31 '10 at 21:48
If this isn't the place for this where is? It is computer related, and it has to do with the CKEditor software. It's almost an exact match to the FAQ guidelines. I find it a little shocking this was closed. – Joshua Enfield Sep 2 '10 at 20:47
Sadly @Josh, Super User isn't for web apps, last I checked a wiki is one. However! We now do have our Web Masters and Web Apps sites in beta. I'd suggest you check those out with web related questions – Ivo Flipse Sep 2 '10 at 22:05
