My Windows 7 64 bit Pro machine crashes on most video games. The crash manifests as a loss of video and the only way to get it back is to force the machine down( no reset option ). I have tried everything I can think of including updating the Bios and running memtest. The video card is not overheating and my drivers are up to date. I have tried running the games in question as an administrator and under compatibility mode. The length of time before crash varies sometimes I get 30 min of play sometimes only 10 min. I am up for any suggestions!

Games that have crashed so far: Mass Effect (purchased retail box) Left 4 Dead 2 (purchased digitally on Steam) Oblivion (purchased retail box) Fall out 3 (purchased retail box) Age of empires 3 (purchased retail box)

Games that run without crash: Dragon Age (purchased digitally on Steam) Dragon Age Awakenings (purchased digitally on Steam) Mass Effect 2 (purchased digitally on Steam) Left 4 Dead (purchased retail box) Morrowind (purchased retail box)

Random Right?! HELP!! :upset:

Asus P6T Motherboard, Intel Core I7 930 Bloomfield Quadcore, Crucial Ram DDR3 1333, Nvidia Geforce GTS 250, Seagate 1 TB 7200 RPM, Thermaltake 750 Watt Power supply, Windows 7 64 bit pro, Running Avira antivirus and no automatic updates from Microsoft.

I'd start with updating Windows to the latest patch, including updating to latest DirectX runtimes. Also, question is better asked @ Gaming.Stackexchange – Sathya Aug 31 '10 at 20:04
