I have an HP external monitor connected to my MacBook Pro OS X 10.6.4.

Problem is it mirrors the display on the MacBook as well as the external display. I don't want this I just want it on the external display!

Also the MBP's fan is going constantly all day whereas I didn't when I used the MBP by itself?

Any ideas?

i don't think a macbook pro would run with 10.0.4!
