Today my computer behaving very strange. Whenever i go to sound option it is set to 100% and it i change it back to some 30%, it gets auto increased to highest values.

Same thing happens when i use VLC media player!

Can you please guide me where i can look for the prospective problem?

Problem:

I added my mobile phone with my computer via Bluetooth and that was causing the problem.

Thanks and Regards,

Dont know if this is a solution, but this happens to me whenever I plug in my headphones or speakers. Dumb windows likes to automate as much as they can. – KronoS Sep 2 '10 at 23:13
Some software that provide a volume control modifies the "global" volume setting instead of handling thier own internal one. Windows Media Centre is a pain for this, I turn that up to hear TV channels better, and the entire computer gets louder. So, it could be you've got some software unexpectedly modifing the global volume; what are you running when this issue triggers? – DMA57361 Sep 3 '10 at 9:28
