Looking for recomendations for a 26" LCD?
I like the samsung 305T 30" LCD but don't want to pay that much, so I'm settling for a 26".

One of the best 26" currently on the market is the Asus VW266H:
It's selling for less than $300, excellent reviews everywhere.

Dell doesn't make a 26" version but I am partial to the Dell UltraSharp Widescreen 24" Monitor. They also make a 27" but it is a bit pricey.

The best 26 inch is the NEC 2690Wuxi2. It's using a wide gamut IPS panel with excellent viewing angles and accurate colour. The LG W2600HP is a cheaper monitor using roughly the same wide gamut IPS panel, with very low input lag too, so it has about the best image for gaming of any display in any size. Unfortunately, this LG is made in Europe and only available there. The USA really misses a great gaming display like this. With big TN panels, check the input lag here: http://www.digitalversus.com A lot of people buy TN for gaming, but in the 26 inch range the lag is often horrible.

For me, the key spec is max resolution. Pretty much any video card today can drive crazy resolutions. My 15" laptop is running at 1920X1200, so if I get a desktop screen, I need higher res than that! I have been looking for a higher res LCD than my current screen. And affordable of course, so probably not really going to happen any time soon.

I have a ViewSonic VA2626wm. Can't complain. Also, the power LED is blue (for coolness) and it's centered on the power button itself, so it's easy to turn off when there's no light. It's the little things that impress me.
