I am looking for a list like one offered by codeen http://codeen.cs.princeton.edu/ of fast reliable proxy servers..

I just want to be able to "post" on usenet or yahoo groups with them.. I think the codeen ones don't allow HTTP-POST

I don't need them for downloading or for torrents, or even for any images.. they can block images to keep browsing faster.

I know it's not a list, but I did try TOR once, but it was horribly slow.

If Tor slows down your Usenet access "horribly", then you're using Usenet the wrong way. – grawity Sep 20 '10 at 17:28
I am looking for a web proxy solution.. but i'm glad you mention that one 'cos I didn't realise that one was free. For usenet, I don't think web access is a "wrong way". Since google provides a good archive. And if you're using it via the web, you have fast access to posting and searching . I suppose I could have 2 windows open, and browser window and a news reader. But then another advantage of posting with a browser, is I don't have to locally download a bunch of headers from any newsgroup that I want to post in. – barlop Sep 20 '10 at 22:33
then I may be more inclined to use a news reader, if you have a solution to that one. though now you mention eternal-september is free.. I am a bit more inclined. btw.. also.. I don't recall if Tor was too slow for browsing google groups, likely it was rather slow, but what struck me was that TOR was very slow for browsing compared to codeen(just codeed doesn't allow http-post). Was a while back that I tested, but probably still the case. – barlop Sep 20 '10 at 22:44

download windwos proxy on your computer and then create your proxy, and put it on your firefox, or chrome browser, and there you go.

doesn't sound like it. can you state first who makes it, and how that works and the cost. would the IPs be my own , or others. I can see you don't know very much, from the way you worded your answer. and I think it'd be incorrect, but there's a small chance you may have run into something - at least something of use to someone.. – barlop Dec 17 '10 at 2:32
