I'm looking for an open source utility that can record all input and output audio simultaneously on Windows. Preferably each direction should be in its own channel, but a mono/joined stereo would also be fine.

Anyone knows of such a beast?

Recording input is easy, I'm not sure about recording outputs. Probably be easier to pipe everything through a small mixer board like used for podcasting. – Scott McClenning Sep 26 '10 at 17:44
Many sound cards are able to function as a mixer, so then one can use the Windows Audio Mixer. – harrymc Sep 26 '10 at 18:20

You can use Audacity, which is a free, open source software for recording and editing sounds.

Audacity has a large wiki and tutorials.
