I have set up forwarding emails from another email account to my gmail account. Now I would like also to send email from my gmail account but on the receeved side shown as from the other account. How can I accomplish that?

Open you Gmail settings and go to the Accounts and Import section. There should be a button to Send mail from another address. If I remember correctly, Gmail will send you an email to verify your ownership of the address. After verification, when you are sending an email, there will be a drop down for the From field to select the address you want to send the mail from.

Be careful! Your gmail account name is yet stored in your sent message headers. So, if your needs are to hide your gmail identity, your goal is not accomplished. – Toc Nov 5 '10 at 8:35
