Possible Duplicate:
What is your favorite transcoding software?

Is there a simple tool for Windows to compress large-size movie-length videos to smaller-size videos?

A typical example: A relative hands me a 6GB+ HD-quality wedding video file. How do I compress this down a 700MB video file?

Assume the OS is Windows. Any output video format is acceptable as long as it plays with free players like VLC.

Note: This query is not about ripping DVD or some other discs to video.
