I have a gigabyte P55-UD4P mobo, with a i7-860.

Currently I only have 4gb of RAM installed 2x2gb - This RAM is DDR3 PC3-10600 found here: http://www.crucial.com/store/partspecs.aspx?imodule=CT2KIT25664BA1339

I looking to expand to 12GB total, and looking to add DDR3 PC3-10666 RAM found here: http://www.gskill.com/products.php?index=233

My question is, can this RAM be used together?? I'm planning on overclocking the processor, but I'm not sure about how the RAM fits into this scenario.

They're both DDR3-1333 Unbuffered Non-ECC. I think you'll be okay.

My one concern is that I couldn't see the timings for the crucial (for comparison, the g.skill's timings are 9-9-9-24-2N). If the timings don't line up, you probably won't be able to use the fastest triple-channel mode. The RAM will still work, just not at top speed.

from what I can find, I believe this is their speed: 9, 9, 9, 24, 2T, 1.47V Is that ok? Will they work at full speed? Since they're pretty close, I'm assuming that overclocking shouldn't be a problem since they're so close in specs? – zm15 Oct 5 '10 at 14:28
The both listed 1.5V on the main page - I don't think .03V is gonna hurt you. And yes, the timings look like a good match. – Joel Coehoorn Oct 5 '10 at 14:32
awesome, thanks for your help! – zm15 Oct 5 '10 at 14:33
