If I tag a specific entry, does Google keep that forever (until I delete it), or should I 'star' it as well?

If there's one thing Google doesn't do... that's deleting stuff.
I think you don't even have to tag stuff to keep it around, let alone 'star' it.

That is only half correct. For, google actually doesn't keep stuff - it just displays the RSS feed, but the actual content is on the blog itself. So if the content "expires", for example, pictures will not be visible anymore. It troubled me for some time, that problem. I found one of the best solutions to be a desktop RSS reader like feeddemon, which can store an RSS item offline. – ldigas Sep 2 '09 at 15:16

Click on "keep unread" at the bottom of an entry's box. If that's what you mean by "keeping" items. Honestly, you should star the ones you really care for or use the search box in the future, because this long-term storage is not what the "unread" feature was technically designed for.

Or have Reader display all entries, not just the new (unread) ones. You may want to sort entries from newest to oldest, though, or the first items you see would be from the beginning of time (or the beginning of the month, because of Google's limit).

I think there not even a way to delete items. As far as I know, even after you unsubscribe from a feed the old posts still show up in the search.
