I am using windows7 64 bit on my one month old Intel i3 core-powered laptop. Since last one week, I have noticed a weird problem where certain graphics features seem to slow down considerably at times - e.g, if I minimize a window, the movement of the window towards the taskbar is very slow.. I can actually see the window getting minimized and it takes 1-2 seconds. Likewise, if I click something on the taskbar, the maximizing is also slow. In general, all motion of windows and dialog boxes is slow, even if I open a folder, the new window displays slowly.
Some more observations -
- These problems usually go away if I reboot.
- If I go to performance options and select the high performance-low quality setting, the problem goes away partially (see next point)
- Even games are slow. e.g I click the move left key and the game character would start moving only after 1-2 seconds. Somehow, this still remains the same even if I select high performance option in the 2nd point above. But it runs fine if I reboot (point 1).
I hope I was able to explain it well enough.. Any ideas? (Graphics card is ATI Radeon Mobility Radeon HD 5650)
