I just installed Windows 7 64-bit on my Macbook Pro. I would like the trackpad to be disabled when I plug in a USB mouse. Is this possible?

TrackpadMagic does this. They have only tested it on XP and Vista but it works for me on 7. It requires the .NET framework, links are supplied on the page.

That looks great! Unfortunately, 64-bit isn't supported. I might try it anyway though. – Lance Fisher Aug 8 '09 at 23:57
Trackpad Magic now supports 64-bit systems. – mindless.panda Dec 13 '10 at 19:53
yea this is a pain in the ass. When you accidentally touch the track pad,the active window does this disappearing act in Win 7 until you move your mouse again. – user23511 Jan 19 '11 at 19:46
thanks again Apple for your solid usability factor. Thanks for not putting an option in Boot Camp that would allow me to disable the whole damn pad in the TrackPad tab. Nice...idiots. I find it totally retarded that we have to use a 3rd party app to freakin disable a hardware device on a Mac. Not that I'm not thankful you made Trackpad but common! I love how Apple and its followers boast such high usability in their apps then rip Microsoft to shreds...hypocrites. – user23511 Jan 19 '11 at 19:48
doesn't work on my win 7 macbook pro seems the case for another user as well here: superuser.com/questions/149145/… it's not even seeing the mouse I have plugged in. – user23511 Jan 19 '11 at 20:05
