Hello everybody as an editor I have to republish a magazine but not before making minor modifications across the magazine. Any suggestions on how can I make those changes in one go?

Without some information on the nature of the changes it's going to be hard, if not impossible, to make any suggestions. – ChrisF Oct 19 '10 at 11:53
Yes sounds a bit magical if anyone finds a solution ;-) You mean modifying all pages at a time with replacement of a phrase / word? – Warnaud Oct 19 '10 at 12:38
What sort of changes - on what software , what platform - without these it's impossible to say. Voting to close as not a real question. Please add more details and use the moderator flag link to inform a mod to re-open it. – Sathya Oct 19 '10 at 13:28

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. See the FAQ for guidance on how to improve it.

If you need to make changes to a number of files, and make them visible all at once, an idea would be to copy all the files in a new location, make the changes, then copy them back to the live location, overwriting the old ones. This way, the changes will appear to take place all at once.

If you're using Firefox by any chance, or can process text in Firefox, have a look at the FoxReplace Firefox addon which is a highly-configurable tool that can replace single words or whole phrases individually or automatically using custom filters.

For example, if the word Linux is UNcapitalized throught your entire magazine, you can create a filter to capitalize all of linux to Linux. With multiple rules in place, you can run them all at once in a single instant, or individually, and it's all done...

No, I'm not the author, but I have used and like it.
