So it beeps 3 times continously all the time even while booted into Windows? – o.k.w Oct 23 '10 at 13:10
Does it beep before/during the boot? – harrymc Oct 23 '10 at 13:17

You can find the meaning of beep errors here: Lenovo Support. To be specific:

3 short beeps Post error
3 long beeps System POST: Critical Thermal

Hmm... 3 short beeps would be a POST error so I doubt that Windows would actually boot successfully. 3 Long beeps means some type of thermal problem, so maybe that's it? – joeqwerty Oct 23 '10 at 13:26
@joeqwerty, agree. Seems like some cleaning of the cooler fan is required. – o.k.w Oct 23 '10 at 15:21
