So, with pidgin on Ubuntu, Pidgin tells whoever im chatting with that im using pidgin.

Client: Pidgin 2.6.6 (libpurple 2.7.1)

How can i get it to not do this, or how can i change what it says it is?

What protocol are you using? What client are you talking to? How is it revealing this information? (I'm pretty sure the client info is part of XMPP xmpp.org/extensions/xep-0232.html) – heavyd Nov 3 '10 at 0:03
its XMPP, but why does that matter? – Jcubed Nov 3 '10 at 0:41
