Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Firstly, apologize as this is not really a technical question. I'm hoping someone can point me to the right direction to find out:

Is it legal/ok for a (large) corporation to replace SSL certificates for Internet websites (i.e. ssl certs in Google sites, etc) with its own? This affects all internal computers accessing website as they go through a proxy server.

Did some google search, can't find anything useful...probably using the wrong keywords. Appreciate any help in the right direction to understand this better.
