I recently installed Windows 7 Ultimate on my machine and its been nothing but a painful experience. My system is shooting up 100% usage with in half hour of usage. Laptop is heating up like anything (is this the cause?). As soon as I open FF or Chrome, the usage is shooting up for 100%. Today I tried to copy some 5 gig of data from External HDD to my laptop and as I guessed, with in 15 mins, usage was 100%. Note: This system has no other s/w installed yet, other than Office 2010 and Kapersky Anti Virus 2011. System Config:

Intel Core2 Duo CPU T8100 @ 2.10Ghz RAM: 4Gb System Type: 64 Bit.

Attached are the snapshots of performance: alt text

What is your question exactly? It's a bit unclear from your post what you actually want to know. – nhinkle Nov 12 '10 at 1:23
I would try another clean install, this time test it before adding any updates or software of any kind, if it acts ok, then start installing updates, see if performance deteriorates, do this in a slow and methodical way to find the problem update or software. – Moab Nov 12 '10 at 3:04
