So, I'm trying to set up my home network/workgroup, but I'm stymied because the Server service (required for all sorts of sharing tasks) does not start due to a dependency failure.
The service dependencies (Security Accounts Manager and its dependencies) start fine and are not the problem.
The problem stems from the Driver dependencies, specifically "Server SMB 1.xxx Driver". The specific errors (via Event Viewer) are:
"The Server service depends on the Server SMB 1.xxx Driver service which failed to start because of the following error: The dependency service or group failed to start."
"The Server SMB 1.xxx Driver service depends on the Server SMB 2.xxx Driver service which failed to start because of the following error: Server SMB 1.xxx Driver is not a valid Win32 application."
Because it's a driver, my first thought is to install something for my motherboard, but I'm not sure what and don't want to screw anything up. I've scoured the web and can't seem to find a solid solution. Help me Super Users. You're my only hope.
