I see here many questions concerning 32bit vs. 64bit. But still I haven't found the answer for my question:

I'm buying now a new machine. It is mid/high-end gaming oriented. Assuming I don't really need more than 4G of RAM, I am specifically worried that either games will run with degraded performance or won't run at all. Do you have any experience with gaming on Win7 64bit?

Huh?! Diago, how could you possibly say that this question isn't related to computer software or computer hardware? Can it be more related than this? – FireAphis Nov 22 '10 at 11:22
It's involves gaming. Rephrase it not to include the gaming component and it will happily remain, however the gaming aspect makes it inappropriate. – Diago Nov 22 '10 at 12:11
And it can. No question was asked about video games themselves. The question was will a particular kind of software (video games) run on an operating system. You REALLY need to stop being so heavy handed. If you keep making it a pain for people to ask questions on this site, people will stop using the site, then where will we be? You are wrong in this case. – Everett Nov 22 '10 at 16:48
AND, why are there tags for game, games, gaming, and game-pad if video games are never to be mentioned on this site? You have interpreted the FAQ's incorrectly. – Everett Nov 22 '10 at 16:59

After rereading the FAQ three times, talking on meta and visiting gaming, this question appears to me both subjective and off topic. Sorry. Probably will rephrase and post it on gaming. – FireAphis Nov 22 '10 at 20:33

Questions on Super User are expected to generally relate to computer software or computer hardware, within the scope defined in the faq.

I specifically use Win7 64 bit as my gaming platform. I have run StarCraft2, Portal, Batman Arkham, Quakes, TeamFortress 2, Half Life Orange box, EVE, and forty other titles for almost 6 months. I use a 2009 15" MBP, NVidia 9600 256 megs discreet, with 4 gigs of RAM, and hold on to your seat for this one, swap turned off. I have had 0, none, zero, nadda, not one problem with stability, or performance hits.
