I'm interested in building a low cost computer for basic stuff. Do you notice anything wrong with this setting? I wanted to check if the stuff was compatible:

Extra question: Do I need this much power? Or lower can be safer?

Are you planning on adding a video card? – Everett Nov 26 '10 at 21:57
No, this will do, it will work almost as a server! – Qosmo Nov 26 '10 at 21:57
@Canha depending on what you mean "almost as a server" and what OS you want to run on it; you may want to increase the RAM. – WoodE Nov 26 '10 at 22:05
@WoodE: Yes I was thinking adding two of those, performing 2GB. I'm probably going to run Debian. – Qosmo Nov 26 '10 at 22:08
@Canha 1GB should be fine for a debian server, 2GB would be more beneficial but not necessary if it's going to be something like a file server. Though RAM is so cheap it's not really an issue I guess. Sounds good to me. – WoodE Nov 26 '10 at 22:42

At a glace those parts look good. As for power you could probably go lower, although using something beefier (if it is in your budget) is nicer if you decide to upgrade the system later.
