There are some existing answers on the web saying "you don't need it", "you wouldn't want to", "just keep archive scan on". I know about live scan, but wish to be able to do on-demand scan through Winrar without dragging files to the desktop to extract them.

Though the name implies 'gui', 'egui.exe' is given as the on-demand scanner in answers I read. However, when Winrar is configured this way, running 'egui' just opens the GUI.

So I need to know how it should really be configured; which executable, and what parameters. I'd guess the default parameter may just be ok, passing the file to scan.

Have you tried simply right-clicking on the file and choosing "Scan"? Or am I being dumb asking that question? – Randolph West Nov 27 '10 at 4:21
@Randolph Potter thanks, I'm trying to do it in an archive file on Winrar. The Nod32 GUI comes up whenever it tries to scan using 'egui.exe' – SuperDuck Nov 27 '10 at 8:40
