Well, like the title says; for testing a web application, I need specific versions of Google Chrome (in my case currently versions 7.0 and 8.0; exactly which builds is less important), but all I can find is the ~550 KiB downloader stub which will always install the latest version without even telling you up front which version of the browser it is about to install.

Where can I download installer packages that will allow me to install a (the) specific version of Google Chrome, regardless of which version happens to be the latest at the time? Are such packages even available?

FileHippo has most, if not all, of the past and present version of Google Chrome. Click here for its list of Chrome versions that are available for download.

Perfect, that seems like exactly what I was looking for! Thank you! – Michael Kjörling Dec 3 '10 at 10:58
it doesn't look like they archive Chrome, but OldVersion.com hosts an archive of ... old versions of apps. – Xantec Dec 3 '10 at 12:14
Can you please explain what you mean. I don't think I know the difference between archive and what FileHippo provides. FileHippo has pages of older version of Chrome dating back to 3 Sep 2008 via Google Chrome 0.2.149.27 Beta. Is there a difference with archiving? If so, please enlighten me. – SgtOJ Dec 3 '10 at 12:20
