So I understand that in iTunes we get a bar chart showing how much space does our apps takes in our iPhone/iPad. However I'm wondering which app is the culprit for taking so much space. When I sort all my apps by size, it does not look like I have 5GB of apps in my iPad, so I'm guessing it's the data that each app uses that's taking up space.

I found a way to see it here: http://modmyi.com/forums/general-iphone-chat/737666-find-out-how-much-space-each-app-takes-up.html

But I don't know how to get to iPhone's command promt. Is there any official (or otherwise) Apple way to do this?

I just basically want to delete the culprit app that takes up so much space. I added up my apps and it seems that some app is using 2-3GB of data.

is there any non jailbreak way to do it? – Enrico Susatyo Dec 6 '10 at 0:11
there are ways to extract your backup into normal filesystem, maybe you can compare your foldersizes in there – schöppi Dec 6 '10 at 0:18
and where are my backups? I tried my ~/Music/iTunes/ but can't find it – Enrico Susatyo Dec 6 '10 at 0:21
