You can use Or like @Ignacio Vazquez-Abrams said, you can use the file properties to set it as executable. | |||

That message means that the file is not in a format that is recognized by your system. Maybe it's an executable for a different operating system or processor type. Or maybe the file was corrupted in transit.

Open up the properties and mark it executable first. Failing that, run it at a terminal so that you can see what's happening. | |||
