Can anyone recommend me a productivity/workflow tool that does the following?

  • I would like it to be task based
  • I would like to be able to set:
    • a due-date
    • priority
    • status (for example: started, paused, waiting for input, finished, cancelled)
  • I would like to be able to link directly to one or several emails in my email program (OSX mail program or thunderbird preferred)
  • I would like to write notes about each task
  • I would like to be able to add attachments (documents and images)
  • Some calendar integration would be nice

Any progress with this question? Did you find a tool? – Daniel Beck Jan 9 '11 at 15:35
@Daniel - Yup, thanks for the reminder. Trying out "Things" – Nifle Jan 9 '11 at 15:39

Things is quite simple to use and popular, but only allows "file references" as attachments. Things like priorities and status would best be solved by using tags.

A more feature-laden alternative is OmniFocus. I haven't used it since the private(ish) beta, though, so I can't say that much about it. Tons of options.

Another possible contestant is The Hit List. Haven't used it at all though, therefore only mentioning it as a comment. – Daniel Beck Dec 10 '10 at 15:21
