Got a dell latitude; the screen goes black when it goes into sleep then it hangs up. Pressing keys make a beeping sounds. Any way to resurrect this sucker without powering down?

Windows 7. It seems to only happen when I've been using my VPN connection, even when I disconnect. – Caveatrob Dec 16 '10 at 0:05
