I'm using:
- Latest version of Windows XP with all updates/patches.
- Latest version of RealVNC for my Windows XP box.
- Latest version of RealVNC app for the iPhone.
What would cause method #1 to work flawlessly for years... but when we switch to method #2... I can never connect my iPhone to my home computer.
Method #1
- ASUS WL-520GU wireless router has port-forwarding set up.
- My Windows XP machine has the correct port open for the firewall.
- "DynDNS Updater" is handling my ever-changing dynamic IP address.
- BrightHouse Cable modem.
Method #2
- All of the above... but we dropped the Cable modem and installed AT&T DSL 2701HG-B router.
My iPhone can now never connect to my home computer any more.
