Can't read External Hard Drive anymore!!

My USB hard drive is having some problems. When we connect it to the computer there is no data shown, but when we check the drive properties it shows that used space is 2.2GB and available space is 1GB.

How can I recover my data from my USB disk drive?

Go to Tools > Folder Options > View. Then find an option called "Show Hidden files, folders and drives". Then click OK. If the files are hidden then this will display them. Otherwise try and access your USB disk using Linux. If the files still can't be viewed, I think you should kiss goodbye to your USB disk as it's probably broken.

See this previous question Can't read External Hard Drive anymore.

I can highly recommend you try out the software called GetDataBack it is amazing at finding and recovering lost and deleted files, and has helped me recover files I thought I'd totally lost. The free version lets you scan to see if it can find your files, but you'll need to pay for the full version to actually recover them.
