I have compaq presario which gives beep sound whenever i restart it. Any clues? how to solve this

check your BIOs - there might be some setting that specifies a beep somewhere -

Same system. I had to go on/off a few times to turn off that sound. A bit hit and miss i think it was user account control settings.
If you type 'sounds' in search > change system sounds >sounds tab> click on the words to highlight and make sure that the sounds box is set to none.
Possibly Unclick the play windows startup sound.[thats what i have now].i wanted no logon sounds.-sorry am not 100% sure,

When you start the machine there should be some option to view startup bios messages. They will tell you what the problem is.
