I'm using Acronis True Image Server in combination with Acronis Disk Director and it never failed me..

For home use they have True Image Home which should cover everything you need to do. The Server edition is geared towards the enterprise with features that allow you to easily manage the imaging and restoring of multiple workstations or servers. The same is true for the Dis Director software.. and the $49.99 is not so bad if you consider the peace of mind

I use clonezilla for all of the imaging at the office. Just multicasted 20 laptops yesterday with clonezilla server running off of drbl live. My boss (more programmer than IT) was amazed when he saw all 20 systems chugging away with the image at the same time without impacting our network. Clonezilla + PartedMagic, who needs Symantec? – DHayes Aug 14 '09 at 19:38

Well it's a bit expensive, but I've heard a Windows Home Server can handle this nicely.

More information on backing up with Windows Home Server on Microsoft's site here.

If I'd have to do it from Windows, then Acronis is the best I've seen. However, I don't like live imaging, or the cost of the software, so I'd advise you to use a liveCD, either with Clonezilla, or just using dd and gzip (with nc if you want to do it over a network).
