what does this mean? – Arron Apr 11 '11 at 17:29

the script had to be run like this, source /usr/local/bin/rvm OR . /usr/local/bin/rvm which puts all the variables into the current terminal/"session" instead of opening a new one which is the default behavior of the terminal I can give an example if needed – jtzero Apr 12 '11 at 20:22
