Possible Duplicate:
Best undelete tool for NTFS/FAT?

I have an external HDD that has been mistakenly re-partitioned and some data written on it.

Previous Partitions were: 480GB NTFS + 20GB FAT32

New partition is all FAT32 and only 70mb of data has been written to it.

Is there any way I can recover all the data from the original NTFS partition?

PS: I have os x & windows

You can get some if not all of your data of by using Recuva which scans your HDD and it will display all the files you can get back.

TestDisk may be useful too.

TestDisk can

* Fix partition table, recover deleted partition
* Recover FAT32 boot sector from its backup
* Rebuild FAT12/FAT16/FAT32 boot sector
* Fix FAT tables
* Rebuild NTFS boot sector
* Recover NTFS boot sector from its backup
* Fix MFT using MFT mirror
* Locate ext2/ext3/ext4 Backup SuperBlock
* Undelete files from FAT, NTFS and ext2 filesystem
* Copy files from deleted FAT, NTFS and ext2/ext3/ext4 partitions.

If possible, I'd do an image clone (Clonezilla) of the disk before you attack it with any apps. Have a look at Parted Magic
