Is there any software like Cloud.app but for Linux?

How similar does it need to be (i.e. drag to menubar)? Would Dropbox work? – fideli Jan 18 '11 at 3:24
@fideli: I tried Dropbox and it did not work. – Wuffers Jan 19 '11 at 1:01
tell us why...explain in more detail what you need/want? – studiohack Jan 19 '11 at 2:53
@studiohack: I'm sorry for the lack of info. I'm actually asking this question for someone else. I'm pretty sure all that he wants is for it to be a simple file uploading utility that can upload a file and provide a link for sharing it. – Wuffers Jan 19 '11 at 2:59
if that's the functionality that is required, I stand by my choice for Dropbox. – fideli Jan 24 '11 at 1:38

Have you tried:

Let's Crate - http://letscrate.com/

There is also Windows Live Skydrive - it supports links and sharing, etc.

I know neither option is not desktop based, but you can at least use it on multiple operating systems...for what it's worth.

There is a Linux/Python/Qt interface to CloudApp called py-cloudapp.

Check out the author's blog post and the source code on GitHub.
