I'm using Windows 7, and I can connect to the internet fine with Firefox. I can open any page any time.
I also connect to my work network from time to time using a CheckPoint VPN Client. No matter if I am connected to the VPN or not when I try to open a page in IE, it times out and gives a timeout error.
When I try to open a page in Chrome, if I am connected to the VPN, I see an error like:
Unable to connect to the proxy server. A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary between your computer and other servers. Right now, your system is configured to use a proxy, but Google Chrome can't connect to it...
Here is a screen shot of my Chrome Settings:
When I disconnect from the VPN, I can open any page using Chrome.
I cannot connect to iTunes, whether VPN is connected or not.
What the heck is going on here?
By the way, I have turned my Windows firewall off.
Where else should I look? Which Windows 7 setting is doing this?
