I have been unable to transfer pictures from my camera to my laptop as the SD card is stuck and I cannot get it out. I don't want to force the SD card out so as not to destroy data. However, I have tried using the USB cable that came with the camera to transfer pictures, but whenever I connect the camersa to the PC, all I get is a message on the camera screen saying 'Connecting to PC' without there appearing to be any real connection. I am using Windows Vista on my PC. I have also tried to transfer to another PC with Windows 7, but no luck either. Any help out there? Many thanks.
Maybe you need a special software to access your camera.
Most cameras are recognized as external storage (like an USB flash drive) and you can access them via the windows explorer where it is shown with its own drive letter. But some cameras don’t give you this method of easy access to your data and require special software that is bundled with your camera normally (this was the case for my very very old Olympus camera 15 years ago).
