Shouldn't this be moved to WebApps? – SLaks Feb 4 '11 at 2:32
Just use Skype. You can use Skype in China just like anywhere else... – billc.cn Nov 4 '11 at 18:24

Try QQ. http://www.qq.co.za/voicechat.aspx

Sadly, Skype is now illegal in China.

You can use Skype in China. However you must install it before you go into China because you can't directly download the original skype through skype.com in China.

If you try to do so , you will be redirected to a site http://skype.tom.com , there is a modified version of skype there, called TOM-Skype. It also works but there are many Ads on UI of the modified version.

PS. Someone may think TOM-Skype is not as safe as the original Skype client because it's modified .

I've been using QQ in China, it's standard issue pretty much :) Get the international version from QQ International and if you want to use an English client on your browser then QQ Chat
