If my Firefox has been running for a long time, it becomes unable to response to my clicks on vote, comment, acceptance of answers,..., i.e. for operations that do not need to leave the current web address. I guess these are related to some fancy webpage features? But it still works for operations that requires going into a different address, such as edit.

My solution is to restart Firefox and the problem will be gone.I was wondering why the problem happens, and how to solve it without restart? Thanks!

PS: my problem comes from my firefox, so I ask here; but if it helps, I will ask at meta.

Does it happen only on Stack Exchange sites @Tim ? – Sathya Feb 7 '11 at 15:12
Since I seldom browse other websites as frequently as SE, it may happen to other websites but I am not aware of that. I think it is the problem of FF, not of the SE. But it may help if one can tell how the buttons for vote, accept answer, comment are implemented in SE. – Tim Feb 7 '11 at 15:27
Add: I guess it may relate to that if keep running, FF tends to consume more and more memory as more webpages are open, and sometimes still even after some webpages are closed. – Tim Feb 7 '11 at 15:47
