I want to share the hard disk of one of the machines attached to a network and then by mounting this share I want to make read/write changes to it. I want this to be shared with only one machine on the network. I tried it using samba. I successfully shared and then mounted. But I couldn't write anything onto it. (Permission Denied).

It would be of great help if you could tell me the exact parameters of smb.conf file for the above purpose.

who is the owner of the folder and what are permissions, also which user runs samba process – jet Feb 11 '11 at 15:13
It could also help to see your smb.conf so we know what you have already. – MaQleod Aug 23 '11 at 16:48
