Does anyone know of a good Windows Mobile application that follows the Getting Things Done method?

Since I'm on a family plan without data access, and since I'm stuck with the beyond awful Mobile IE, webapps aren't an acceptable solution.

For further reference the phone is a Motorola Q9M, a slightly upgraded version of the Motorola Q.

The most basic idea in GTD is having a list of things to get done.

Why not use a text file or an Excel spreadsheet to make a crude but useable list of things to do, and go from there?

How about just using the Tasks and Calendar programs already built into Windows Mobile in a GTD style way?

You can think of the Categories field as contexts etc, and then use the filters and sorting to slice and dice it.

Some examples of how to do that here:

BTW I recommend Opera Mobile (or Mini) for Windows Mobile as a great replacement for Pocket IE.

I've been using the native apps for quite some time with the added benefit of my GTD system syncing with my office PC/Outlook. – AnonJr Aug 23 '09 at 15:40
Yes syncing with Outlook is a major win for heavy duty editing – Matthew Lock Aug 24 '09 at 3:22

I haven't got any personal experience with it, but a friend of mine always talks highly about

That looks good, but the PocketPC version really needs a touchscreen + stylus, something my phone lacks. – A. Scagnelli Aug 18 '09 at 15:35

It's not a GTD application per-se, but I saw a fair few folks saying that Evernote makes a good GTD productivity tool.

I haven't tried it as a GTD tool, but I do use it for taking notes under WinMob, even sketches and scribbled notes in Ink notes.

As well as WinMob, there's iPhone, BB and Pre versions, a Windows and Mac desktop app, and you can access your notes on the web site too IIRC - handy for when you're travelling, or on Linux.

I suggest Pocket Informant by WebIS. This app runs on both touch and non-touch screen devices and offers a wide array of methods to organize your tasks. There's a trial available, so give it a try.

www.rememberthemilk.com has a Windows Mobile app that syncs between the standard Windows Mobile tasks and the RTM website either over the air or to your desktop via ActiveSync. It also has widgets that install in gmail and various other online places (as well as directly at their website).

We have just released Needian - Organize in 1,2,3. It's fully integrated with outlook and you can use it without using stylus.

There is a 3 minutes video here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qAMbEU0OWgg

You can download the evaluation version at our website: http://www.needian.com. Maybe you want to give it a try.
