I've been having this issue on my laptop and my PC-rig. When my power management settings on Windows 7 set to turn off screen after idling for more then 15 minutes, my PC would not respond. I just keep on having black screen.

I have found lots of topics in terms of going to sleep and then not being able to wake up. But this is weird. I have so far turned this feature off, so my screen is always on. I mean this works, but come on.

Any ideas? Any one having same issue?

This began recently may be in past week or week and a half.

Unless it's a hardware problem, it would only have started recently if something changed, whether a configuration or software installation. Can you reproduce the problem with another monitor and / or video card? – Randolph West Feb 15 '11 at 10:19
Can you be more specific about what these machines are? I see this problem a lot of times with a bad driver or system service, so PROBABLY there's something running in common on both of these machines that's causing the problem. – Shinrai Feb 15 '11 at 15:22
Well my stationary pc, which has nvidia cards in sli and my toshiba laptop that also runs with mobile nvidia card, both have windows 7, and it started after some windows updates were pushed in. @randolph-potter well two different machines, same problem. @shinrai are you asking me to list all hardware? – GnrlBzik Mar 3 '11 at 22:55
