Reset the nanostation to defaults, login to default IP? – Kyle Feb 16 '11 at 17:17

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. See the FAQ for guidance on how to improve it.

This is kind of hard without knowing what model you have, but there should be a little button next to where the Ethernet cord plugs in. I attached a photo of the Nanostaion I have here, hope it helps.

Set a static IP on your Windows XP machine that is much higher than the amount of devices you want to connect. Should not conflict with all the other devices, regardless of what address they are given.

EDIT: One example being that if your normal IP is 192.168.1.XXX you can set XXX to 149 and most likely a conflict will not occur between the machine and the NanoStation or any other device for that matter.

You could also just tell him to ping .xxx first just to be sure. – Kyle Feb 16 '11 at 19:27
True, but it seems to be easier to just completely avoid any low IP address as those are the ones that are normally given out to connecting devices. – Thiago M. Feb 16 '11 at 19:40
