Super User is a question and answer site for computer enthusiasts and power users. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have just tried to download Nokia maps to my phone, from the web via Ovi Suite, twice, and both times the download silently aborts early. Is there any way I can download the maps as a file, using Free Download Manager that can resume aborted downloads, then copy over to my phone? The manual seems to think so, but I can't find a standalone map file anywhere.

Maps Downloader uses some special protocol, and not just HTTP, and I couldn't figure out how to emulate it. My best guess is that you are out of luck.

Mine too actually - I have been researching this since asking, and the one site that appears to have a hack or files just links back to Nokia. :-( – ProfKaos Feb 18 '11 at 13:07
