Can anyone recommend a Windows XP compatible USB wireless adapter that doesn't require a CD software load. MY CD drive is broke and obviously I can't download a driver prior to having wireless internet access.

Stupid question, but can't you download the driver from elsewhere and pop it onto a USB thumb drive? – Randolph West Feb 21 '11 at 1:19
none of them require cd software! they come with CDs but you can download the software. Or, use WZC(windows's built in way win xp has it for example). – barlop Feb 21 '11 at 3:46

you Can download a driver if you have wired internet access, that's how you set up wireless in the first place. – barlop Feb 21 '11 at 3:48

Your best bet is to download the driver from another machine and use the copy to install on your machine.

XP is an extremely old operating system (over ten years old). It came out back when computers had 256MB of ram and harddrives were 7GB. The drivers that came with it are over ten years old, back when Wireless G didn't even exist.
